2024 Kids Camps-PreK Little Roots-Ready, Set, GO! 10-11:30am ages: 3-6

Camp will explore and foster multi-sensory and social emotional learning. This is a parent and child experience, and parents are encouraged to attend. The toddler music sessions incorporate our community’s young families. Parents and caregivers engage in simple songs, rhythms, rhymes, and movement activities. Musical instruments are incorporated to create a playful experience while working with beats and tempo.

-Creative Expression

• Families will have the opportunity to create/decorate instruments and artwork
• Children will take turns choosing a rhythm for the group to follow
• Families will use scarves and free movement to respond to classical music

-Personal Growth

• Children will hear simple songs repeated with slight variations for tune recognition
• Children will practice keeping a steady beat
• Families will learn simple, high interest songs that can be sung again at home

-Community Connection     

• Families will experience the fun and connection of singing and dancing in a group
• These traditional songs are also often used in school/preschool/daycare settings
• Participants will be able to meet other families in the community with similarly-aged children
