Art Opening with Grace Marshall Sunday, September 29 from 5-7pm
Born and raised in Denmark, Maine, Grace Marshall earned her Associates Degree in Liberal Studies with an Arts concentration at Southern Maine Community College in 2023. She received a Certificate of Arts award through Fryeburg Academy, and for her senior capstone
project, she wrote, illustrated, and published a children’s book. Since graduating college, Grace has been studying oil painting under her father Jon Allan Marshall and learning the Old Masters’techniques.
I am fascinated by both the enchanted, quiet moments in everyday life and the haunting beauty of nature. I use a variety of traditional media, from graphite and charcoal to thinly layered oil paint, to capture and illustrate subtly magical stories that may otherwise be overlooked. My work often includes lone figures or suggestions of humanity, with an emphasis on instances of stillness and wonder. Literature, music, and my own experiences with solitude are my inspiration. Each artwork is a window into a little world and an invitation for the viewer to slow down and enjoy the ordinary around them. –Grace Marshall
Event is free to the public with complimentary beverages provided by National Distributors and food by Hannaford-Thank you!
