CIRCUS & CLOWN SKILLS CAMP with MICHAEL TRAUTMAN
August 5-9 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Ages: 5+ with parents and older kids – parents optional!
Circus Skills Camp starts at Denmark Arts Center on Monday, August 5 from 9:00-2:00pm for ages 5 and older – Parents allowed!
The Denmark Arts season finishes with a whiz-banger of a camp; CIRCUS Camp with Maine Circus Academy! Students will learn with instructor, Michael Trautman, Artistic Director of Maine Circus Academy and the Director of their Youth Performance Troupe.
This year we are … CHANGING IT UP!
An anonymous community member has stepped up to help support our Circus Camp and now it is only $100! We’ve also changed it up so that this introductory experience is for Children AND their Parents! Five year olds must bring their parents and for children 8 and older, parents are optional. If you just want to check Circus camp out for the day to see if it is for you, then no worries, you can drop in for a day of tumbling and prank-falls (drop in fee $25)
Campers will learn fundamental skills including juggling, tumbling, balancing, mime, physical comedy and more. Expect lots of fun, creative play, and physical activity! Along with the fundamentals, campers will learn about how to create an act and have the chance to perform on the last day of camp. Campers should be sure to come prepared for vigorous movement training. Gym clothes or dance wear along with athletic shoes recommended. End of Camp performance Friday, August 9 at 1:00 p.m. (open to the public). Pack a lunch, snacks, and drink for the day and get ready for a camp experience like no other.
