Students will enjoy days packed with musical games and activities, through which they’ll learn the basic 1-2-3’s of rhythm and A-B-C’s of notes! Creative expression is nurtured through exploration of music, while simultaneously enhancing language, math, and communications skills. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to explore a variety of musical instruments through hand as-on learning workshops with Mountain Top Music Center Faculty members. Pack a lunch and drink for this camp.

Mountain Top Music provides developmentally appropriate instruction for children aimed at nurturing the means for music expression.

The Snow Queen, this summer’s production, is the original play on which the movie Frozen was based. This week-long intensive theater program will focus on putting together a fully staged show with music. The workshop is offered to children who want to sing and act! Pack a lunch and drink for this camp. Performance of The Snow Queen on Saturday, August 11 at Noon (open to the public).

Mary Bastoni is the director and costume designer of the most recent sold-out production of Disney’s The Lion King Jr. play at M&D productions. Mary teaches at the School of Music at the University of Southern Maine and at Mountain Top Music Center.

SESSION I – July 9, 10, 11             9 a.m. – 10 a.m.             ages 5-7            $75          (maximum 10 students)

SESSION II – July 16, 17, 18        10:30 a.m. – Noon         ages 8 & up      $75          (maximum 10 students)

The possibilities are endless when hand building with clay! Students will pinch, coil, carve, roll and sculpt a variety of functional and decorative projects. We will explore texture, design and surface decoration using found objects and glazes. Material costs of clay, glazes and kiln-firing are included.  Finished pieces will be displayed at a special Art Gallery opening on July 21 from Noon to 2 p.m.

Kathy Banks is passionate about pottery. Her artwork is inspired by her gardens and the natural world. She taught elementary art for 16 years and prior to that, science and environmental education.
